Writing With A Mix Of Purpose And Creativity

Writing with an initial key purpose in mind is the key to the actual quality of the text created. Major Benefits of Writing an Outline

Writing without any idea on what to do next is very irritating. You’ll end up stressing yourself more and stare clueless at your messy content. That’s going to be hard in your part to experience that.

Writing is not an impromptu task. If you’ll do it that way, you will tend to get confused on how to manage your ideas well.

Sometimes, if you look further at your written piece, you will notice that the idea that you use to write in your first paragraph is different from the rest of the paragraph in your text. Your idea seems to have a gap between the previous one and the later one.

Or you are likely to experience having no idea about your topic at all. How to Control the Pace in Your Writing

In order to make your writing good and effective, each sentence must vary lengths which control the pace of the story. Did you know that long sentences can create a flow which carries your readers? And on the other hand, short sentences slow the pace of your writing.

Editing For Rhythm and Tone

Like composing lyrics in your song, it needs rhythm and tone in order to create a beautiful and harmonize melody while singing it. Same goes into essay writings and also with some forms of writing. Writing 101: Start With the End in Mind (Write to Educate, Entertain, or Preferably Both)

What I am going to tell you here will be obvious to some readers, but to others, perhaps not. There are two objectives that any piece of writing has, only two, and this is true for either fiction or non-fiction.

All writing exists either to:

1. Educate (self or others); and/or,

2. Entertain (self or others).

That’s it. That is the bottom line. You can think about any piece of writing from the cave paintings in Lascaux France to the operators manual for the Superconducting Supercollider, and they were all written to educate or entertain. My view is that if the writing does both then it is better.

So what has this got to do with keeping the end in mind? What I mean is, have a clear objective when you start writing something, whether that objective is written down or just in your mind. A clear objective, a destination, saves time and makes your writing better. Let me give you an example from my own work. Some More Ideas About How To Write Fiction

The most important thing about writing is structure. You cannot just rush into a piece of writing without some feeling for the form of what you are going to write. Of course it’s a great idea to zoom off a few inspired pages, but then you do have to stop and think. Where’s the start, what’s [...]
