Hi, I’m an admin for a group called Face Time, and we’d love to have this added to the group!
Google search says he was the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Boston.
you can almost smell the brimstone
I looked up information on him and added tags. When you know facts about one of these photos, it’s a great help to add them in the form of tags as well as in comments. :)
Woah, great portrait
i love the framing of daguerreotype cameras!
Reminds me of Christopher Walken with the hair and all, great photograph.
Very impressive haircut.

Eyes like a hawk!
He looks mad as a hatter. I like him :-)
Very Handsome
i wish more people had this sense of style
This is the best thing I’ve seen in a while. Perfect Halloween costume too. "Who are you supposed to be?" "Rollin Heber Neal…Duh"
Something about the Character.
"NEALE, Rollin Heber, clergyman, born in Southington, Connecticut, 23 February, 1808; died in Boston, Massachusetts, 19 September, 1879. He was graduated at Columbian college, Washington, D. C., in 1830, and at Newton theological seminary in 1833. While pursuing his studies at Newton he was ordained to the ministry, and in 1834 became pastor of the 1st Baptist church in Needham, Massachusetts In 1837 he was called to the pastorate of the 1st Baptist church in Boston, and he continued in that relation for nearly forty years. He was one of the most eloquent and successful preachers of his day. The degree of D. D. was conferred on him by Brown in 1850 and by Harvard in 1857. Of the latter he was for many years one of the overseers. He published "The Burning Bush" and many sermons and addresses. See a memorial discourse by William Hague (Boston, 1880)."

I’ve never seen a vest with a button so close to the top.
A very interesting subject for this photo. Very intense look.
This portrait was adapted in 1981 as the cover image on the first edition of the late G. B. Edwards’ novel, "The Book of Ebenezer Le Page." The fictional Le Page, a lifelong resident of Guernsey, lives through the Nazi occupation of that English Channel island. Incidentally, the French novelist Victor Hugo spent many years in exile on Guernsey, and wrote "Les Miserables" while there. (The cover artist turns Rev. Neal’s high collar into a white turtleneck):

The first documented "sex hair".
And to think of the fits the establishment had over long hair in the 1960′s.
He must have been a sight to see in the throes of a passionate sermon.
Looks like a trendy arty type.
Know what? He reminds me of Anthony Bourdain. Awesome portrait! Makes me wish I could go back in time to meet him ;)
something of David Lynch about him
wow!
这张图片好像很久了要成古董了,真羡慕那时候的城市没有嘈杂的空调、机械、现在噪音真的很大,我们这里的噪音治理 不是很好,真希望国家能够把噪声治理放到首位让我们有个安宁的环境
Wild hair!! Reminds me of the actor Hugh Laurie a little.
Now that’s a coincidence: I saw several huge lorries in England, when I was there years ago. And one of them ran over a wild hare . . . .
